From what I've seen these usually tone darker not lighter. I read there are counterfeit dollars coins called zombie Sacagaweas in South America. I don't think this is one of them but I could be wrong. I just wanted to ask if this is normal to tone lighter with circulation or if anyone has seen these this color. Thanks for any info
Soaked in an acid. This one was made in vinegar. One made in something stronger would result in a lighter color. Also soaking longer than mine would result in a different color. Maybe an earlier planchet to would affect this. The mint made plenty of changes in the planchets to help them retain bright gold color.
The color looks the same on that coin from the link minus the pink edge. Could be an earlier or later planchet like you mentioned or dipped in a similar solution. Thanks again
