Beginner Question: Plating Error Or PMD? (1992 Cent)

This is probably PMD, but maybe its some kind of plating error. How do you tell the difference? * Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark / Denomination to Title. If there was a patch of missing copper plating, you would see a slight dip in the surface down to the underlying zinc core.
