Anyone have ant clue what might be going on with cent? I doubt it's a mint error because I never find any cool ones... Fire? I doubt acid. Terminator mercury dude? Maybe it's a pop 1 wavy smoosh error?

I'll go with a blow torch type of flame causing this rippling effect. or possibly a wire wheel on a drill.

met,
Not an error. PMD. Weight would help a lot. I agree with heat from a blow torch, other option would be acid damage, but we need the weight to know for sure.

Yes, damage caused by an intense heat source. Suggest keeping it as a fun curiosity.

People always reply that these coins are heated with a blow torch. Stop and think about it. How can you heat a coin to the point of melting and rippling the surface but not the whole coin? Thats not posable. Rather this coin was either sandblasted with glass beads or buffed with a wire wheel. You can see where they held it with vise grips.
