I have always wanted a metal detector and Santa finally made it happen. I must of been a good boy this year. It is a Bounty Hunter Tracker IV. I know it is not a top of the line model, but it will do for a beginner and my kids.

I can't wait for the snow to melt, so I can start hunting.

I got an Ace 250 last year for Christmas and I love it! Then I got a 10x14 search coil this year. And as Nohope says, practice with it in your yard first. I am having to do this once again with the new search coil cause that changes everything. Good hunting my friend.

Congrats on being a 'good boy' this year! That in itself is a hard thing to do...for me anyway. If you go to the Garrett site, I believe you will find a good tutorial on how to set up a practice area for learning the ins and outs of the detector. It will be well worth the practice time.
