I bought a 1978 mint set for a nice Roosevelt dime, and got these as a bonus! The 1978 D has that nice golden toning, both have very nice reverses.

Well I just found me a 72d OK peg leg. That stash of 420 ikes I bought last year is the gift that just keeps on giving. Found a couple more 76d peg legs too! This is the same 72d pictured on the ike group peg page with the beveling above his head

An awesome BU coin with a weak strike and amazing roller lines. Gotta love it! Unfortunately, even with how clean it is I think the ear piercings will limit it to 64. Drats!

Cascade,,remember, all 1972 BU Silver Ikes ARE by design Peg Legs...the only wat to qualify is if the base of the leg is narrower than where it meets at horizontal..otherwise, their all made this way...NO little itty-bitty serif on edge will get it a DIVA Card, so, measure it and let us know.

I wonder what is the highest price ever paid for an Ike?

As far as I know, the highest price ever paid for an Ike was $12,925. It was a 1973-D graded MS67 by PCGS. Here is the link to the Heritage auction:

Now that is a WOW Ike!

Yes, but I don't know if even an error has topped that price. I could be mistaken. If anyone else knows of a higher price, whether error or non-error, please post it. Come to think of it, does anyone remember that 1977-D Ike that was struck on a 40% silver planchet? If I remember correctly, that one sold for closer to $20,000. I'm gonna do a little searching now. . . .

Of course, these are asking prices, not realized prices.

No soap spots or fly specks
Only slight haze near the OBV rim
