Success of one box is complete luck of draw. Lately its been nothing in each box. If you get more than one count yourself lucky. More than that you are onto something. Do you have a plan for getting rid of them?

bracoin,

My theory is based on what has happened to the recent , 1979, discontinued Eisenhower dollar. I can see the same for the half dollar. Anyway, enough on this subject. Some of the other posts have me wondering about these boxes I have. Maybe I should go on a silver hunt.

Since they only made about 870 million War Nickels, I would say there might be millions, not billions out there.

Do rolls of halves come in paper... I've been searching quarter rolls for a while and come up with blanks. All of these have been plastic wrapped and I'm sure that has something to do with it. Any thoughts or recommendations?

PJDUchamp, It may be dependent on the bank you go to. At Wells Fargo I've never seen a plastic wrapped roll. We order all of ours from the main vault and they come in brown paper rolls. The only other rolls I've seen come through the branch are white rolls that have the red stripes at the end ( Presidential dollars).
