Interesting. 46mm is awfully big for what I think of when I think of a typical lead seal. That's even bigger than an Eisenhower! It certainly isn't a coin. It appears to be very crudely imitating a Spanish coat of arms, like the one on this coin. If this speculation is correct, then it's beach-location probably indicates it's a replica "pirate coin", probably buried in some kind of treasure hunt and never found. CarlTromp Valued Member Netherlands 309 Posts	Posted 05/11/2011 3:57 pm It could be a lead or lead/zink seal that was used to secure something, in the past this type of seals where used on trade goods so the receiver was shure the package (or bunch of paperwork) was not openend by unautorised folks.
