Hounddog Bill Pillar of the Community Canada 1226 Posts	Posted 11/19/2015 11:55 am I really need a better book on tokens until then I hope you guys don't mind me picking your brains. I know this is a PE-8A but that's about all I know. Are there any varieties of these coins I should look for or know about? Someone told me this was the last half penny circulated in Canada is this true? If your looking anyway how about an opinion of the grade? I'm hoping EF. Cheers, Bill Report this Post to the Staff

techwriter Pillar of the Community United States 1285 Posts	Posted 11/19/2015 2:26 pm Bill, regarding varieties there are two known: 1. PE-8A1 - Thick flan 2. PE-8A2 - Thin flan This is Breton 921 which he dated as 1858. Haxby says "The fact that it shares a common reverse with the 1855 cent token and also comes in two thicknesses and weights points to the possibility that this token was second issue by James Duncan."
