If you've been on CCF lately you've seen the "Did you know the finest known NGC 1894 S Morgan dollar is being auctioned right now on ebay?" box.

Well, auctions over!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...p=true&rt=nc

Didn't sell. Not even with the sticker.

If you set the reserve higher than the market will bare, that's what happens, I'm not surprised, I'd take the 15k unless I was sure I could get more.

I'd rather get a nice crusty XF one and then a bunch of morgans with that money

It isn't the "finest known". NGC graded one at MS67.

$15K was a strong, realistic bid. I agree with MercuryDime, David Lawrence should have taken it.

Besides, I like this one better.
One of the best MS60 Morgans I've seen, regardless of date/mintmark.

Years ago, ebay was full of classic car auctions with reserves set above market price.
