The cancellation button doesn't work well. I talked to a RCM rep on time before. He said if you want to cancel some orders, you'd better call them, because they seldom handle the cancellation from on-line.

Which do you think will be the better buy? The Hand Select or the Premium Select?

@CC-Ottawa : How did you get the 50 number for the 1912 $10 Premium coin on your spreadsheet. I thought there were none released?

For all of the people on this forum thread who have repeatedly stated that they don't think these coins will ever be more than bullion value (which I don't necessarily believe but has been a popular opinion in this discussion), the extra investment in the premium coins is not worth it. Regardless of what happens with the price of these coins, from my perspective, the hand selected coins are a safe investment as they have about $830 worth of gold in them. If the price of gold continues to climb over the years, it will be easy to recoup your cost if you ever have to since the premium above gold value is much smaller on the hand selected coins. I personally went with hand-selected since I'm a bit averse to risk and felt safer with the hand-selected coins regardless of what happens to the value of these coins. The gold will always be in them!

Quote: @CC-Ottawa : How did you get the 50 number for the 1912 $5 Premium coin on your spreadsheet. As I noted in the spreadsheet, the red numbers are estimates. Call it an educated guess. All we know is that some of each year were released and that the total for the 3 years is 291. Based on the distribution of $10 coins, I estimated how many of the $5 were likely released. Hopefully we get a firm number as well as firm numbers on the the coins sent to the melting pot. You may also be confusing the 1912 $5 and $10. There were $5 premium released but there were no individual $10 premium released.

The numbers I was given for the $5.00 Premium coins were: - 1912: 62- 1913: 45 - 1914: 121 A total of 228 -- still not the "291" listed in the RCM press release, but at least a bit closer number. @Marty: Was your "26" a typo in your post, or were you really told "26" by the RCM rep?

I think she got the set number wrong. The set description on mint.ca says "Only 140 six-coin sets worldwide were assembled from the best of the 1912,..." We're getting close to the 291 lol

While there are no INDIVIDUAL 1912 $10 Premium hand picked coins released for sale, they are available in the 6 coin Premium set. There are 140 of those sets available, so there are 140 Premium hand picked $10 1912 gold coins.

I tend to believe that the premium sets are even better quality than the HS premium coins. Otherwise, you have to believe that the 1912 $10 is worth almost 6 grand.
3x875 + 2x1750 = 6125
12000 - 6125 = 5875 for one coin?
I think that the 140 are the best of the best and if I bought the set, I'd expect them to be better than HS premium individual coins. Could be dreaming. Maybe it's just a really nice box driving the 12k price.
