I was given two "silver" pieces today for $5.00. I already know that one piece is German silver, aka a paperweight, the other a questionable silver round stamped with a pot leaf/Ben Franklin wisdom and marked 999 fine silver. It weighs a perfect troy ounce but as it is so shiny and new, I was wondering if there is a way to test it to see if it is actually silver. Also I'm not gonna buy a silver test kit and I live in a town about the size of Hee-Haws cornfield.

Is yours the one berk posted? The leaf/Franklin? Because that's a great deal for $5 alone!! Even if the other is a paperweight.. Err.. German silver.
I want one of each in that video! Love the quotes!

The $5 referred to isn't the website price. Those are sensationalist/cultist rounds that go for spot plus $6/oz, although at least shipping is free.

I like the coffee table in the video ;)

@Fatman ... Have you checked your round with a magnet? It won't prove that it's silver, but will eliminate a couple of possibilities.
