Has anyone notice that the Gold Superman coin is tax exempt at Colonial Acres? Is that an error? Plus there is free shipping for the coin.

.I only hope their shipping dept is more organized

It became more organized in 2013. Previous release Superman was shipped fast. But not a few really bad examples:

**2012 Farewell Penny set - delivered 4 month after ordering
**2012 BoC gold coins - 5 month later
**famous 50c roll (CC-Ottawa?)
**Lucky Loony that delivered after the games

and above haven't been affected by production delay (at least haven't been reported)

2012 Two Loons - production delay
2011 1-st GITD - production delay

Hope, this year Superman coins will be shipped quick, as it was in 2013.

The Royal Canadian Mint on Friday unveiled four limited-edition Superman coins, reproducing colourful iconic images from DC Comics' book covers.

Three of the new coins have been minted in silver, T with face values of $10, $15 and $20, and the fourth is in gold with a face value of $100. The mint is only producing 10,000 of each silver coin, and the gold coin is limited to a run of 2,000.

The coins were unveiled at Fan Expo Canada in Toronto by a federal minister who said he grew up with the "fantastic" adventures of Superman.

House Leader Peter Van Loan was also quick to point out the Man of Steel's Canadian roots, saying Superman's co-creator was Joe Shuster of Toronto.

"Folks of my generation will know him as a cousin of the famous comedian Frank Shuster of the Wayne and Shuster duo, and Joe Shuster was, of course, born in the city," said Van Loan, who brought his daughter and son along to the unveiling.

The new coins are based on art that graced comic book covers in 1938, 1972, 2001 and 2012, including Action Comics No. 1, which features Superman hoisting a green car above his head in "arguably the most famous comic book of all time," the mint stated.

The other coins feature images including Superman's alter ego Clark Kent pulling back his shirt to reveal the S-Shield and Superman in the "classic iteration of his costume," taking to the skies with his cape fluttering behind.

Their launch follows the release last year of seven Superman coins to mark the hero's 75th anniversary.

"By celebrating Superman, we are highlighting the fact that many Canadians share a love of comic books and admiration for one of the world's greatest pop culture heroes," said Patrick Hadsipantelis, vice-president of marketing at the mint.

He said the new coins exemplify the mint's internationally renowned craftsmanship. The coins are on sale online now and will be available in Canada Post outlets and at other distributors.

In regard to talisman, if you buy from their ebay account, you are probably gonna get it. I had yet hear people complain about not getting their coin from talisman ebay account. If you purchase a hot coin from talisman website, good luck to you.

Colonial Acres has some for $999
Limit 1 per customer (I was able to add it to the cart).

I think - still worth to buy for whoever haven't got it yet.

Oh no, I am not dressed as Lex Luthor. I am here with my kid which walks in circles around pokemons and lego.
Now, yes, the coins are there alive. Took a picture, will post late evening. The gold one - very nice in hand. The fact that it less colorized than in 2013, makes it more attractive. It will be more harder for me to apart with it ( if will get one). For people who still hasitate about the $999 - imo, buy it, if still available.

In overall - the Fan Expo was nice. I believe, the pros will describe it in details on other related forums. I think that I missed majority of the stuff, but its OK. Not easy to spend several hours with the kid at the such event. Specially coins were the boring part for him

RCM 2014 Superman release:

No lines, no huge crowd. The explain for this, that although the coins related, the main masses came to see shows and some really useless stuff. Without harming fans feelings...
The RCM had a booth with the display of all 4 2014 coins and 7 2013 coins. And 2 monitors , showing the process of minting these coins.

Together with this, I heard something like 3 people disappointing that they can't to buy the coins "here and now", but looks like they weren't coins collectors, since they haven't heard of RCM website. They probably Superman / Super-heroes fans.

The coins:
There was a RCM guy, probably one of the managers, very nice guy, we spoke a little about RCM release, and he allowed me to approach directly to the stands and make a pictures.
So, I have to say "Thank you" for this.

And here are the pictures
(they might be bit blurry, since I had no space there, was close to display, but still they good):

And the cylinders below (sorry for low quality) - they are dies / punches (?) for the some of the 2013 and 2014 Superman coins. As I understand, usually, these tools never leave the Mint facility:
