I purchased this for $4.75, and it was supposed to be an 1836. Looks like an 1816, and the best I can come up with is N-1. Am I close? The left of the curl is over the right edge of the second 1. That narrows it down to N-1,2, or 3. Only the 6th and 23rd leaves are visible on the reverse.
I think that it is N-3, due to the position of the tip of the leaf under the E in STATES. The position of the word "OF" would cement that, but I just can't make it out from the pictures.
The obverse is indicative of either N-1, 2, or 3, as you said. The later state Cud at 1 o'clock is fairly clear.
O.K. I'm at home in front of my laptop but that doesn't help much. This could be an N-1 reverse or it could be N-3. Both have the 6th leaf past center and the 23rd slightly past center. Unfortunately we can't see the 15th leaf or the where the 10th berry falls. Flip the coin in the air, if it lands on heads call it N-1.
