what an odd 6, I would have to wonder how such a thing could happen without the rest of the donut getting filled.

Looks like a nice die chip Good find, I'm sure others have found similar but I've never found a die chip that big, other than a BIE cent.

That was part of the reason they created the large dates. It was no un-common to find these die chips even in earlier die states. The created the large dates and when they punched the mint marks on this year, they were in a hurry and thus the higher number of RPMs for this year.
