Quote: 1881-S Morgan. The mint mark is just barely discernible. Fantastic!

Two super Lowball Halfcrowns for you The 1820 George IV is truly a Poor 1 coin - this is completely flat in parts, a partial silhouetty of Piggy himself and enough shield and word detail to see "1820" The 1817 Bull Head of King George III is marginally better, again with flatness in parts on the Obverse and the Reverse is probably aGood 3, but that obverse is nasty at Poor 1.5, so overall we have a coin in the Fair to better than Fair level, say Fair 2.25! Both were sold to me under melt value, but now with the silver price dropping - they are worth over melt. I bought the 1820 as I was going to buy an Uncirculated one for $900, but the coin sold, so I am left with this dunger. This is what happens after 200 years of use and abuse.

oriole asked... Quote: @Yokozuna, how and when did your father acquire this? It looks like something he may have found on the street. Dad worked for "Mrs. Baird's Bread" in Denton Texas. He delivered bread there for almost 40 years. Most of the coins he passed down to me were acquired in the form of cash payments from "Mom and Pop" food stores and restaurants in 4 different Texas counties. I'm sure this one was just another dime dropped in with a payment.
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

1834 William IV sixpence, plucked out of a "junk" silver bin earlier this week. I was considering it to be certainly low grade although marginal as a true lowball, but it goes well with the other British coins posted just above.

i contributed a 1913 Lincoln Cent on page 3 of this thread... i was scrolling through the images receintly and rememberd another coin of mine.. i wonder if this might be considered a legimate lowball coin. i really do enjoy seeing coins with a LONG history (story) to be told. it might have too much detail to be a true lowball coin...

G-III penny is still a heavy chunk of copper...even when worn.

This gold piece is incredible as a PO-01! Rare to find gold even close to lowball status!
