I pretty much stick to Monument and Bullion Exchanges for my junk white metal. Just bought another roll of quarters for $273. Considering their current value is $276.84 I think I can live with the premium. I plan on concentrating on my 90% metal in the coming months more. Ive been Lax on it, instead buying the pretty 1 oz coins when the price was right. I want to at least fill up my quarter roll holders. I always admired the "junk" and consider it sound investing.

LCS had dimes/quarters at 28.5x and halves at 29x this morning or roughly 4-5% over melt. I miss the days of cheap 90%.

LCS in a suburb of Milwaukee had 28x on dimes/quarters/halves, but had some better condition coins in 2x2 holders at 26x. They honored the price on the card which was nice and different than other shops that freak out at the though of selling anything below melt.

ok it is 09/12/25 now the price of Silver is 42.06 an OZ the best prices are at coin shops for bullion currently the premiums are down due to high prices they want to sell inventory and can still make a profit so premiums are down I don't buy from online companies as they charge the highest premiums

You can get 1 oz bullion coins for a tiny bit over spot at well-known online retailers. They even throw in free shipping when you buy for a certain amount. For example, how about a 1 oz 2025 ASE right now (8:07 pm) for $42.37? To me, this indicates that the retail silver market is not good. Too much supply and not enough demand leading to minuscule margins.

Local store today was at 5% premium, less than melt on 40% halves. Same store has been as high as 20% in the past "Junk" silver bulk bins had AU to UNC examples as well. Edit: If one purchase of a 40% under melt makes up for the premium on one 90%, buy both?

But retailers do not price current inventory at close to melt unless they have to. Supply and Demand.

My dealer in Canada has been taking it in faster than he can sell it, and hence has sent quite a bit to his refiner, to avoid being caught in price plunges, plus he has limits to how much inventory he can hold. I'm sure that there are many in the same situation.

Just imagine, people bringing in their old, beautiful silver coins, which then go to the smeller, turned into 0.999 planchets to strike modern kitschy bullion coins which are then sold by the RMC and US Mint for double the money. It's kinda sad, isn't it?
