Also, I know how it feels to miss out on something like that; I've missed out on a '34 Buffalo, '41 Mercury dime, and most recently, a 1902 Indian Head cent because I wasn't scheduled to work at my job (which is at a grocery store bakery). Chriscoinmaster Valued Member United States 337 Posts	Posted 05/25/2011 8:06 pm got a box this week and in it contained about 40 pre 60 coins 2 War Nickels 1944 P silver 1945 P silver 1 really off center MAD. The rim is so off-center on the one side that you can see a line where the edge of the coin should have been (makes the coin look like it has 2 rims) and a very cool 1945 canadian V nickel!! this is my oldest canadian nickel find it looked like it was plated and upon a little bit of research I have found out that it is made of chrome plated steel hense the reason it looks like it was plated. Each war silver nickel (at full weight) contains 0.0563 troy ounces of silver ... so 11 of them (the full set you mentioned) contains 0.6193 troy ounces of silver. New York spot close on 5/27 was $37.99 per ounce ... so the offered 11 coin set had a spot silver price of $23.51. The sellers offer of $20 was appx 18% below spot silver price ... not considering any potential numismatic value of the coins. If you are a nickel collector and these coins did not meet your grade standards ... so be it. If you are hunting for silver ... then are you satisfied buying at 18% below spot? I seriously considered it (yes I do collect nickels), but I would then not have had enough to buy the Confederate $50 note I saw. This is a guy who is always there, so hopefully he will still have them for when I go back next weekend. He also had numerous silver proof sets from 1976 for $25 a pop... seal006 Pillar of the Community United States 1915 Posts	Posted 05/30/2011 09:05 am Unfortunately, I bank at Wells Fargo. So all I get from them is Brinks. Because of this I rarely get silver. I stopped roll searching about 6 months ago. Well I stopped by on Friday and figured, what the heck, and picked up $25 in cents and $50 in nicks. I finished the nicks last night. Ended up with ZERO keys, no surprise. I only got around 30 pre-1960. I did get a 1945-P. My first silver from a Brinks roll. Report this Post to the Staff
