The Goal: 25,000 Rolls Of Nickels (All Searchers Welcome!)

Yes, 200 boxes and bags, the bags, rarely. One credit union will let me have bags from the counter. All others I have asked have curtly refused.

Buffaloes? Forty-seven. I'll try to provide detailed statistics as to dates/undated, etc., at 500,000 searched.

V-nickels? Four only: 1898 (oldest nickel), 1899, 1902, 1910.

War Nickels? One-hundred-thirty. Nothing notable, except eleven 1943-D, only one 1944-S. I would have expected fewer 1943-D examples, and more of the 1944-S.

Proofs? Only twenty-one. Details on these at 500,000 searched.

So, I think these results are relatively poor compared to others whom have posted here. Most seem to have been able to complete the set 1938 - 1961 in less than 400k searched. I am particularly surprised not to have found a 1938-S by now. At one time, I thought I could finish the set by 500k, now I seriously doubt it. The plan is to search 500 boxes (25,000 rolls, one-million coins), as coppernickeldaddy is doing. By the way, I am well west of the Mississippi, almost all of the boxes that I search are packed by H. F. String.

Your comments on these results would be most welcome.

Way to go joseph! I am at 10065 rolls searched and our stats are similar. I only have the 50d left. It's going to take a lot of luck to fill that hole. Some 1950p's have been showing up I'm my boxes lately to tease me before I flip them over.

Nice murry! my collection is too unorganized to keep track like that. I have tons of buffs, and I cant remember which ones I found in roll searching or not. All my coins are mixed up, but after my 50 box record I will see what I can do
