Finished a great box of Nickels this morning:
4 wars - 2x 1945S and 2x 1945P.
Two Buffalos with full dates - 1925 and 1927.
Two 2009P's - one in HORRIBLE condition.
Nine 1982's in at least AU condition, and 1 1984D in BU condition, no bag marks.
24 pre-1959s (excluding the wars & buffs). 40D filled a hole, 52S filled a hole, and a 55D over S!
1 roll had the 25 Buff and a 45S in it.
Oh - and 1 Canadian 1998, and some other foreign coin with 20 on the back....don't have the wording with me.
All in all - a great box!

went through a box of $100 pulled 15 pre 1958's including 4 1939 p's (1 in at least AU), a 1938, as well as a 1936p buffalo in G

Just finished a box. Found 59 pre 1960's including a dateless buffalo, 43-S, 43-P wars, and 39-S  I also found 5 1939's. Usually I only find 1 or 2 Jefferson's from the 30's. I have only 5 left to find. 38-D, 43-D, 44-P, 44-S, and the ever elusive 50-D  . |

went through another box pulled 28 pre 1959's including 2 1939's, a 1951s, and a 1955p. Also pulled two high grade 1959d's in AU/MS

the coin with the 20 on the back is probably a swiss coin...they are the same size as nickels and I found 2 of them already! and you guys that found '39 nickels, check the backs - they could be Hennings. |

In fact - not just for 39's - but for the other potential Hennings as well?

Unbelievable box last night. 156 pre 1960's. This makes up for the 3 dismal boxes from last week. There are about 10 AU's in this group. Also found a 1989 P full steps that is totally black with grease. This coin is rather neat to look at as all the high points shine through (like hair lines edge of the dome and steps etc)
Not a single war or buff. Plenty of 39 to 57. Also found a 1940 & 56 Canadian in the XF to AU. The 40 has contact marks on the Obverse.
My customer roll search project is now on hold until next week (CF issues)

As MDH said the 20 is probably a "20 swiss rappen" and it should have "libertas" on the headband.

Just went through one box; My personal record: 196 pre-60 coins; 1 43D War Nickel; 13 s-mint coins including 48s and 51s. |

I cut/pasted the info I needed to a word doc and will now go dig thru my pre-59's to find the potential culprits!

Searched another Brinks box of nickels yesterday and came up with nothing but pre'60 and S mint .......>>>> AGAIN !! That's $200.00 worth in a day and a half......with no Buffs.....no Silver.....no V's....no goodies really at all ! ...  ..  Time to go back to the Fed. Resv. boxes......  |
