How about geographic survey markers? Such as this one marking the triple-point of the borders between Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. Like coins, many are even stamped with a year!

Quote: No TRS in Texas? Nope. Texas uses its own unique survey system based on the original Spanish land grants.

I was hoping the reflection of the ceiling would throw you off. Not to be! Extra credit if anyone can identify what's in the reflection, though. No, I am not in the reflection and yes, I was fully clothed when taking the photo.

Man, I can't get anything by you. If you had been able to identify that it was made of Lego I would have really been impressed.

@celticknot and @kefiroth, nice additions to the post. Thanks for keeping it going! I've been thinking a bit more about what to add and came up with this. It is something that gets posted to CCF almost monthly and fits in the category of items that look like coins but aren't... By the way, I found this guy on the street and thought it was a gold coin at first--it has a date and everything.

@CN, well I'm glad you found it and thanks for the addition. Nice pic of a nearly empty tin of lip balm. How does the rev look?

Saw this the other day--looks a little bit like the die posts were broken when someone struck this Urban Outfitters sign :
