1956 D Penny Double Die?

Not sure, but I think the 9 looks a bit weird...

Well, not a double - it is however a die chip. Looks pretty cool how you set up your image there. I also like how the date looks with the MM - it looks like it is almost attached there to the 9.

Die chips occur in all years and denominations, and are signs that a die has seen a lot of use. I don't think your example is significant enough to merit a significant premium on its own. Group a few together and you may be able to ask or a buck or two.

During the 1950's there were several of these happening. They are pretty common to find. I see them more of a distraction than a premium to me. I guess I'm just an earlier die purist.
