Finn235 Pillar of the Community United States 6130 Posts	Posted 09/05/2017 4:28 pm Trying to find some background info on the Gordian III Liberalitas antoninianus, and stumbled on a coin type I had never seen before: https://www.acsearch.info/search.ht...r=0&company= Imitation of one of those S-C Antioch issues, but the SC is upside down, and the emperor is replaced by the ancient Mesopotamian sun-god Shamash! Hatra was a pseudo-autonomous city state that was tributary to Parthia, but resisted Sassanian rule right up until it was sacked in 240 or 241. I see a few listed on acsearch, and a few on Vcoins that sold for ~$250-300. No real point to this post except that I thought these were cool! Report this Post to the Staff
