Is This A Dime Plancet Error? - Coin Community Forum

erratic1 New Member United States 33 Posts	Posted 04/15/2006 3:17 pm Hi, I am new to this site and new to collecting. I have a Washington quarter that looks like it has a dime plancet error. I would appreciate any help I can get on identifying if this is an error coin or not. Thanks much! At the time a circle like that could possibly have been cut into the coin, it would still have been in the sheet, which would definitely be before the strike. Your circle was cut into your coin after the strike. There is no machinery at the mint that would do something like this after the coin is struck. Report this Post to the Staff
