This 1974 nickel has been through a lot. Found CRH, I am not sure what to make of the clip area. The flat portion on the reverse could correspond to something gripping the coin and creating the obverse rim damage. A few things for the positive case: the coin is slightly underweight (con: not impossible for this wear level), there is weakness on the 19 which might be poor metal flow during striking, there is a bit of curvature on the missing metal, and quite a bit of interior pebbly texture that could correspond to raw metal that was not touched by the upset mill.

What say you, o' error experts?

Very interesting. Judging by the condition, I am going to say PMD. I would love to be shown otherwise.
