As hard as it is to get (and get rid of) steady quantities of coins, I don't see the point in seeing how fast you can partially check them.

I'm a miner for dimes as well since I dont particularly like the series. I do like how the silver coins aound and feel though. all other denomintations though... I will check each coin. but sadly for mr. roosevelt I am just a miner. not going to sell my silver finds though. I think they are neat and collectible and have history behind them.

I'm a little bit of both. I keep all the silver that I find. I don't know all of the different VAMs and such so I scan for errors and coins need to fill my or my daughters folders.

Did 40 more fed rolls. No silver, but found the 2009d that I needed to complete my 65-present. Only took 240rolls to find it. You would think in Indiana I would have a even amount of each mint. I found 14 2009p before the D. Oh well, I got it now.

  If a coin is sold for melt, it is gone for good. It will never be in anyone's "coin" collection. And the one's that do remain, will increase in value over time. And with each coin that does get melted, a piece of our hobby is melted too, making it even harder for the next generation of collectors. |

I'd keep any silver I found too... if ever I were to find any. 50 rolls and zippo. My first box was a skunk. Plenty of 1965's... what a coincidence.

My last two boxes have produced: two silver roosevelts 1956 and 1964 in one box and in the other box a 1942 Mercury     I love finding Mercury dimes, so far on the summer I have found 6 of them! |

for everyone that just edge searches I would say be weary. All the Mercury dimes I have found in circulation have been dark on the edges and worn. They are were not detected by me while edge searching which is what I do when I first open the roll. They were found while checking each coin individually which I do as I put them back into the roll. I've also found some really nice die cracks, Cuds and many of the kind of rare 2009 P and D coins. Mine if you must its your hobby but it would stink for you to miss out on a merc. |

You are not gonna believe this, drumroll please......... I just found 8 (yes I said eight) silver dimes in ONE roll. 5 were Roosies and 3 were Mercs. Great day already!
