Thanks - I've finally been able to locate the date on my Shah Jahan rupee from Surat - a regnal year 20. I got this coin near the Raja Denkar Kelkar museum in Pune, India about 10 years ago. It's an beautiful connection to the builder of the Taj Mahal!

Hello drusreedhar, I possess these two Indian coins for a long time but still not understand what the scripts are, mint year and also mint place. Can you tell me a hint about them? Thank you.

cool coins wongh., I really like the first one. here's one I got last week... according the the info the seller gave me it is a "raja raja" coin, from 985-1035 ad. however, I think it is a "queen lilivati" coin from ,1197-1212 ad. I like it, whatever it is.

This is Lilivati as clearly spelled out by the legend (reverse right side 7 characters). Her coins are probably the most common of the type but there are several other rulers that used different legends but the same figures. Raja Raja coins are a bit earlier and always a bit more crude.

Hello!wonghinghi, The coin on top is from the state of Hyderabad. The building shown on that is the famous Charminar. On its door you can see the letter "Ain". The script is Persian. The coin below is from the state of Chitrakood Udaipur. On the obverse, the name of the state is written and on the reverse, "Dosti London"-friendship with London- and date. The script is Devanagari used to write Hindi,Sanskrit and some related Indian languages.

@chrsmat71 The coin is surely of Queen Leelavati of SriLanka as the Nagari script clearly reads.
