I like the posts where I have enough knowledge to help a beginner.

When I started, I was all about the roll hunting, but now I visit the modern sections infrequently and look forward to seeing some nice ole silver, barbers and older.

I really enjoy coincommunity in general. I like hearing about deals that others got. I really like learning from others (even from mistakes they have made). I have learned a ton from the members here.

I enjoy the threads that manage to nut out a serious question whilst also having a bit of fun and a joke along the way.

I tend to look at under "View Last 100" column at the bottom of the page, open most in tabs, and read/post. Yes, it is sort of random, but it also has yielded a lot of info. I tend to favor anything not foreign (Canada, OZ I do look at), do not do much in currency (sometimes), and know nothing of ancient (though I sometimes like to look at these also).

I have very wide interests in bullion, economics and numismatics generally I am not necessarily any sort of authority in any of them.

I am the exact same.

I also really like topics that are very open ended, and everyone can share their opinion (like this one). I guess I find it interesting to read from someone else's point of view. It can really change the way that you think, and your opinions which can lead to more discussion.

For example, I have probably read this thread three or four times. I am not sure why; it didn't teach me anything, I just really liked the content.

I do this as well, but I use the "New Forum Topics" and "Active Forum Topics" on the main page instead. It's amazing how much I have learnt about coins (and other things) that I don't normally collect just from reading these "random" posts.

I appreciate new collectors asking questions. It is always odd how a new collector can come up with something that many just don't know the answers to.
I like the odd questions that have not been thought of a real lot. Actually anything about coins is worth reading.
I just hate long, dragged out posts that go on and on and on to say the least of what the topic was.
One more thing that gets me as funny is how someone can ask a simple question, like how many 1909 coins were minted and after 5 replies, the topic is now the temperature on the South Pole.

as a new collector, I like info on coins. when someone post something like I got a deal on this coin and it happens to be a rare so and so with a picture. It opens my line of searching. I just downloaded a electronic version of standard catalog of world coins and check the ID section and try to help other.

I like the threads that show what someone just got. Good deals bad deals etc. also someone showing their collection. Informative threads, for trade, picture the poster,Buffalo nickel challenge. I hit the top 100 each time also.
I don't like the vague threads like:
1.Question
2.Help
3.What is this
Etc.Etc. I don't read threads unless there is more info. To many times I check one out and it's something I have no Idea about. But I'm sure now I miss some that I could have an answer to if only they would put more in the header so I would open it.

I'm another one that likes to look at the acquisitions of others. I also keep an eye on the PM market for when I ought to cash my Numismatics budget in for coins and silver.

That is one thing I'm not sure of for myself. I like many of my top rated coins but then someone shows one even better. Yes glad a member here has that one but then why not me? To me some of those fantastic coins members have is like going to a car show and seeing cars you could not afford, no room for, wouldn't know where to get parts, etc.
Still nice to look at though.

Interesting replies so far.

I have spent a few hours clicking on members screen names and seeing what post they are responding to. It opened my eyes to more areas of this site that I was not seeing.

I did not know Big Fredd had passed away or the Murrellington had been in a car accident. Both are sad news that I missed.

Most times I look at just a few sections Modern, classic and commemorative coins, also U.S. paper money and main coin forum. I guess I need to read more sections.

I do find myself reading post of the members I respect more, for their knowledge and like-able responses.
