Quote: Did you buy it from the actual person who graded it or a third party ?,either way i'd be asking for a return & refund. Seriously if your going to buy slabs i'd be sticking to PCGS or NGC, this APCGS is just a pretender IMHO. I bought it from the person that had it graded, and I cant see myself buying apcgs slabs again.

Quote: Saw a PROOF one of these a couple of days ago, view day before auction. Noble sale 102, lot 1468, est. $45,000. I seen that on nobles site, if only I had a spare 50k

Stick with PCGS and NGC. Sounds like this A-PCGS is trying to imply an association with PCGS, although I doubt many would fall for it.

Could have been EF ef40 before this was scrubbed, Due to the cleaning this would only make VF at best Looks like a Peter Wallace coin flashed up in some "Kaka del Toro" (Love THAT one Nancy )Homespun slab. As far as being AU50, Well that is just ridicules

Quote: I spoke too soon. Looks like people are confusing this fringe grader for PCGS. What else could explain this price?
Maybe someone was using their eyes for the coin instead of the slab which is normally the case with PCGS offerings. From what I can tell from the pics this coin has a shot at MS65 if regraded by PCGS

The leading bidder has 6 feedback and 94% bid history with the seller.

Quote: The leading bidder has 6 feedback and 94% bid history with the seller. Would that bidder go by the mane of Mr Shiller Or has this bidder bought before and has confidence in what he is bidding on That 1957 florin looks to be unmolested and an easy MS64 with a good crack at being an MS65 to my uneducated eyes If it is only a 64 the bidder looses about $60 if it makes a65 he picks up about $300 in value. I do agree that the company going by the name of APCGS is as dodgy as a 3 dollar note But whenever buying a coin I tend to look past the slab regardless of who slabbed it. After all when I buy a coin its the coin I want, Not the bloody plastic

I reckon its impossible to grade from those pictures. To me it looks cleaned on the obverse. Certainly not a $200 coin IMO.

I was thinking the same thing, look at the base of the bust. Trout I don't think you realise how difficult it is to get a pre-decimal coin (especially a florin) into a PCGS MS65 holder (either that or you're letting the 'MS67' grading influence your judgement). It takes an exceptional coin to make that grading.

I guess we will never know Walter, unless one of the members here bought the coin.
