In a way your mirror pic looks like you have 2 Nickels in your fingers. Not saying you do just looks a bit like it?

Just searched the 2 rolls I have and struck out. No idea of the rarity or value, I will let the experts speak on that, but that is definitely a great find and a keeper for sure!

Thanks for your comments ndgoflo :) Sorry to hear you didn't have any; but glad at the same time that it isn't common enough to find in a few rolls of 2012s

I'll try to take better pictures tomorrow. It was tough to get a good angle to take a picture because I don't have a mirror that isn't attached to the wall and had to lean over the sink to take that one. Tomorrow I'll pick up a free-floating mirror and try to take better ones.

(Wrote this post saying that I'll take the pictures tomorrow because it was 2AM and when I looked back up at the time it was 3AM. Thought I was going mad until I saw the site crash and figured it was a time change)

Just a tad under 90 degrees, but a keeper.
Tough to find on a modern coin. Even 45 degrees
is tough nowadays.

Nice find! It may not be listed, but then again, rotation can occur on any denomination for any given year. As long as there is some level of adjustment (manual) or if a design/process isn't error proofed, it can happen.

John - if I'm not mistaken, you finally got your rotated coin. Congrats on that!

BlueSolo: I would start an intensive search for these in your area. The rolls of these maybe just in your area? So start the search. They would have a good premium for these. Buy and search as much as you can afford from your area and keep us posted.

Did you weigh it?

A lot of magicians coins when they get snapped back together the obverse and reverse are not lined back up?

I know that magicians halves make a hollow thud noise when bouncing them.

Hey everyone! Thanks for the welcomes and comments! I've got some better pictures for you all! Still open to comments of how Rare/Common this coin is for it's year.

coop: I am definitely checking out more nickels here. ;) The this batch of $100 had one 5 cent token, one War Nickel (1944P), and this rotated 2012 nickel. There were also a bunch of really nice looking 1960s-1980s with little sign of use.

jack jeckel: Good thought. I thought something similar. Since your comment I have inspected the sides and have not seen indication of the coin being snapped together. I can't weigh it right now (don't have a weight) but when I can I definitely will!

@Silverworld11 Showing that it is one coin ; )
