I personally wouldn't buy this coin for any price. Easy to get a problem free VG hole filler for not too much more.
I'd call it VG-08 Details.

You paid a bit over $16 CND for this coin, too much in my opinion, you could have got a 'hole filler' for a lot less and it may even have looked better.

I myself would not want to have this coin in my collection, even if it were given to me. But what makes coin collecting so sustainable is the large range of people from silver stackers and hoarders, to accumulators, to collectors, up to "true" numismatists that study and write about their discoveries, plus the investor who keeps the high grade stuff high priced. All along the curve just about any decent coin is going to have someone that wants it. Even a shotgun blasted piece like this. That isn't a bad thing. It keeps the money flowing through the system and every type and grade of coin remains liquid to a much greater extent. I always remember that when I started collecting I had a heck of a time learning about Jefferson nickels with nothing but a Red Book as my guide.

Just like the old saying, different strokes for different folks, as long as you enjoy this coin

while I wouldn't want this in my own collection it will still fit in someone's budget.
looks more melted than pitted, like someone tried to poke a hole in it with something red hot.

The pitting VERY greatly reduces the value. For $3.65, still a good buy anyway, but not a 'steal'.

Actually sold it today for $30. I was surprised it went so quickly.
