All it says is 'This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available.'
I take that is anything could have happened, maybe got an offer from somewhere else.

for information on the sale go to the ebay sellers web store...vancouvercoins and type in 1994 1 cent on 10 cent coin or blank and all the info will be right there in front of you.
Item was not sold through ebay.

Thanks DD. Always good to know where to find information on coin values.....not many dealers leave sold items up on their sites.

I am not at all convinced that this is a dime planchet. First, the dime planchet is smaller in diameter than for the penny. It shows an off centre strike with excess metal on the left end side . This would happen if the planchet was larger not smaller. It also looks like this is a plating job in my opinion. I would have asked for a side view of the coin to check the thicness for starter.

If this coin was sold on ebay, there is no risk to buyer due to title boldly says penny on dime, even with no return. Would have been nice to have weight, but a dime planchet will fit into penny collar and create this piece

Most definitely legit, looks exactly like my 1992 1c struck on 10c planchet...

Yup,that pretty well clinches it.
Nice Set there SPP, why does PCGS give all the wrong metal strikes a Brown designation?

That is a question I have asked, but never received an answer to...

I don't see the off center but just a normal rim on one side and not enough metal to make a rim on the other. IMO

My pleasure Smallcentguy.
The sale price will be posted for a week or two before reverting to a zero figure.

I am sorry for being suspicious, but
the seller gives no indication of the weight
to confirm what the original planchet may have been.

We will probably never find out the coins weight unless someone here purchased it.

Strange that no one noticed the uneven metal "mottling" above the queen's crown...

That does not concern me so much. The dies were set up to strike bronze coins, not nickel coins. There are also other clues, look at the beads on the obverse side where there is no contact with the collar die, they are more oval than round. You see the same phenomena on clipped nickel composition coins. Look at the Cartier dollar in this thread, as an example.
