I always love to check out nicely circulated Seated dollars. Nice acquisition, Gary.

Gary ... good on ya! We are always seeking more converts. Unfortunately, I will not be able to acquire a 100th anniversary coin for myself ... 1852 was a pricey year! I did see a heritage auction this past year for an 1852 restrike in PF 64 ... I think it gavelled for over $50K Oh yeah ... where are those pictures?

Until Gary will grace us with his 1842... here's mine. It's actually more toned now than when the pic was taken. It was dipped by the previous owner and it's been sitting on my bathroom window ledge getting lots of sun and humidity, plus whatever those plants give off.

Hey 1sikevo is that window ledge on the first story or the second story of your house?

It's the one next to the shotgun I check on the coin everyday... make sure it doesn't fall into my wife's potted plants.

Congratulations! I still have my Seated dollar I bought in 1987. Circulated and gray. I don't think I'll ever sell it. BTW, early crowns of Peru--(Un Sol) have a similar design on the reverse.

1sikevo,
Thanks for the picture.
My coin is quite similar, but yours looks like a bit higher grade.

Mine was originally in one of the those 3rd rate TPG slab. Obviously cleaned and dipped. I cracked it out the day I got it.
