First Congratuations! Second very interresting read.
Do you believe that the coins with these Rockwell marks hold any special value?
I agree that a BB would not make that mark, based upon the material the Bb would deform upon its impact and make an irregular shape, not the Rockwell shaped marks.

However, the problem is that there is no way to say with absolute certainty that you have one. It is different from a capped die, for example. If you have one of those you and I both know for sure that is what it is! With a Rockwell Test mark there will always be that debate! |

This has been an exceptionally fun project. I love doing research and I was surprised to find any subject at all in the numismatic area which had not already been subjected to the kind of detailed research I covered in my paper. Of course it took a rather obscure bit of subject matter to find it!  Thanks, everyone, for your support! |

I just remembered that I had started a thread a while back asking anyone who had found some feature they thought could be a Rockwell Test Mark to post it on that thread.
