Better than a 65. No problem 66. An absolutely stunning example. One of those coins you will never get tired of seeing again and again.

Unless there's some rub that the pics don't capture.

Thanks for all the responses and grading opinions.
Under magnification I certainly don't see any rub on the coin.
I think this Buffalo may be worthwhile sending to NGC for grading.

I'm shipping this coin to NGC today with my fingers crossed! I'm also sending in an 1857 Flying Eagle cent hoping for an MS-60 on that one.

Nice one looks MS-65+ or star. Beauty.

I love the coin, great toning. While I might put it at 66, I think it will grade a 65 unless the luster shows brighter in hand than in the pics. I don't have extensive experience but it seems that with the TPGs, the luster better be popping to get a high grade like a 66. The darker, subdued luster coins seem to grade out lower. Let us know when it comes back. Good luck at the 66, though.

It's on its way back to me.
I'm going to string this out as long as possible and not look at the posted online grades, but wait until the coins arrive.

Well, this was a major disappointment. NGC graded it MS-63! There is only one tiny mark on the obverse and one small one on the buffalo's front left leg. It certainly has a lot of luster and beautiful color. I paid $55 for it plus grading fees. The NGC price guide for MS-63 says $175. I certainly thought it would come back with a higher grade, as did everyone else.
