I'd give it a grade of VF-25 but this coin seems off to me. Almost looks like a copy but why copy a common date Indian? It has the correct type 3 Bold N reverse and type 2 obverse. If genuine if suffers from a weak obverse strike (possible Grease Filled Die) around the headdress area and the word "AMERICA" But for 1¢ how can you go wrong?

Shapes of the obverse lettering just don't seem correct. I believe this is a copy.

I'm way off from everyone else on this one. the obverse of this coin was weakly struck on the right side. this is not from circulation wear. the denticles are full and strong. you are not going to see that on VG or F coin. the reverse is at least XF and maybe AU with strong denticles and shield. very slight wear on the shield and again we see a weak strike on the right side. technically I guess its XF45 but a weak strike would not drop it more than one full grade so maybe VF35. someone tell me I'm wrong and why.

I agree with band on this one. This looks like a counterfeit coin. This wear pattern is near impossible. Which means it is not wear, it is simply the level of detail on the counterfeit die. At least you only paid a cent. It's a pretty good copy, it would fool many collectors.

VF-25, just not very attractive. Shield is very sharp and Liberty is all there and well defined, it's just difficult to make out because of the mottled appearance of the obverse. Perhaps some grease effect in feather striking.

Geez. I thought the funky strike issues and weird coloring were due to the pictures. I had assumed that they wouldn't counterfeit a $2 coin.

Thanks everyone.....when bandsdean identified it as fake I went looking for it. The Chinese are making everything now regardless of rarity.
