Hey Fuzzy, would you happen to be referring to the monthly shows in Atlanta? If so, about how many dealers are there? I used to attend those about 20 years ago when I lived there and it was a decent size, just curious if it would be worth a 3.5 hour drive these days. Thanks.

collectorplay, I think its the same one but has moved around a bit. Usually in one of the conference rooms at a local hotel. It was worth the 45 minute drive just to look around, but I would not drive 3.5 hours to it. 30 or so dealers covering all aspects of collecting: modern coins and sets, classic coins, and there is usually a booth buying gold and silver, along with dealers buying coins. http://www.atlcoin.com/index.html

I'd love to go to a Coin Fair in the States. In the UK, where I live, I've been to the big York coin fair a couple of times, and once to a local show in a hotel near where I live. When I lived in France in the 1970s I went to two quite big coin shows. A few years ago I went to another coin show in France when I was driving through a medium-sized town and just saw a poster advertising it. I quite like attending them but they certainly haven't been my main source of additions to my collection.

Thanks Fuzzy, I am actually from the Atlanta area and we get over there several times a year to visit family. I have wondered about timing a visit to coincide with a coin show (no pun intended). Thanks for the info and link!

I've only been to 10 shows all in Canada. Considering attending the ANA World's Fair of Money this summer. Can anyone tell me about this show?

I think I've been to a total of six or seven weekly shows - three or four times at one location in Kaliningrad, and three times in Moscow (once at Hobby Market and twice at Aurora). I'm not counting the Izmaylovo Vernisage weekend market as a coin show, though - if I did the number would have climbed significantly.
Haven't been in a real (less frequent than weekly) coin show yet so far (excepting a few places that were focused on unrelated things but happened to have one stall with coins), but I'll try to attend the big Moscow coin show if it's still scheduled this year and if I'm still in the city in September/October (literally forgot about it last year).

I've been to the FUN show 3 times now, and 3 of the smaller local Orlando coin shows. I went to the ANA National Money Show this weekend and was slightly disappointed. I went on Saturday and about half of the vendors had already packed up and left! I did see the 1913 V nickel in the flesh though so that was pretty sweet.

I have only been to one, in Tokyo. It was shortly after I started collecting, and was very fun. I wish there were coin shows where I live!

I have attended most of our local monthly shows for more than 20 years, but I find less and less each year it seems. I have gone to Nuphilex in Montreal once or twice a year for 20 or 30 years. I go to the RCNA (Royal Canadian Numismatic association) shows when they are near. I used to go to Toronto shows more regularly but it is no longer convenient. I have been to F.U.N. at least 3 times (recommended), the ANA show in Philadelphia 5 years ago, and local shows in California when I am visiting family, when possible. So all in all, quite a few. The bigger shows are better, of course, but the local shows have the advantage of knowing the dealers and they do not require more than a 20 minute drive.

I used to go to about 10 to 15 a year up until about 5 years ago. Now days I'm lucky if I go to one every 3 or 4 months. I don't even go to the local shops like I used to.
