Hey, NS. Most of the early wheats look to be G to VG. The 10S is nice. Unfortunately, looks like your 70S is a large date. A SD in that grade is a relatively expensive coin. I love Lincolns so I'm not a good person to ask if the price was worth it. You may have paid a little more than the set is worth, but have fun!

Thanks Bump111. I have been looking at the diagnostics for the small date, and I am no expert, but I agree with you. The 9 seems to curve down to the mintmark and not toward the 7. That seems to indicate that it is the large date. I appreciate your help with this.

The 13S has been cleaned and the 1970S is a large date, not a small.
You got a good deal, don't worry!

I have worked up a set of Lincolns 1909-date including all proofs from 1955 on. I am missing only the 09SVDB, and probably always will be! Now I do have the 70S sm date like Bump a weak D for the 22 no D have used other variety of DDO for the 55/72. My coins aren't high grade, but do go BU from 1934 on with all Memorials being MS OBW's This set has a rough comparable value of @$1,000-1,250 from what I have witnessed at some recent auctions. Coin by coin may be more or less, I say worth. NS, I did see a coin or two turned around, make sure you have all correct dates/hole, may be errors, usually is. 28S isn't a semi-key date BTW, 26S is. For $225 that's an OK deal, if nothing else in a clean Dansco! Look at those I'm currently selling on ebay for a reference, might give ya an idea. Coins are compatible grades, just no album and no Memorials just LWCs. Memorial sets are #65-90 w/proofs.

NS you did just fine. When you consider your time, shipping and the Dansco the dollars add up fast. I am missing one coin (22 plain, with grades are all over the place) from having a complete set to date. I'm probably about $2500 deep into mine. I will never recover my money, but that isn't why I put the set together. The last ten years of your set I would suggest you buy mint sets and break them out, maybe with the exception of 2012 if memory serves me correct. Sell or plug holes with the remaining coins. Have fun!

Looks like a good start to a collection! Even if you overpaid by a bit (and I'm not saying you did) if it helps you get into collecting cents that's worth something. Enjoy your coins.
