I think it should be soaked for a longer time period.

Agree with a longer soak. Might not work, but much more upside than downside. Nice job so far.

I didn't keep track but soaked between 4-6 days and used enough to completely cover the coin. The Verdicare became a blue green color overnight. After the initial soak I rinsed it off, dried it, & took the second set of pictures. It's soaking again now. If that doesn't get rid of the remaining green I'm considering another acetone rinse followed by another Verdicare soak.

@ trdhrdr007 I did not intend to take control of your publication. I'm sorry about that ... simply contributing.

I haven't soaked coins in oil in about 40 years . Stick with the Verdi-Care for best results .

Do not use plastic containers for soaking, but use glass instead.

I took the 1814 out of the Verdicare earlier this week. Followed that up with an acetone bath. Then I put a very light coat of Verdicare on each side followed by 24 hours of drying time. This is the final result and is probably the best this coin will get. There are a couple spots that are not visible in the pictures where raw copper peeks through. Considering making it a pocket piece.
