Worst coin photo I ever took, but this should answer the orientation question.

Interesting. Did you take this out of govt. packaging, or buy it raw like that? Also, did you pay a premium or find the error on your own? Thanks for posting.

Stoneman you're killin' me! Don't make me pull out...some more DDOs to send your way. Lordy that was funny, you made my night.

Happy to have been able to answer the orientation question. And somehow I walked right by my wife without getting quizzed about what I was up to with her hand mirror (whew!)

Hi Jim, I bought a big lot of error coins and this one was in there. It was labeled as a rotated die so it's not a find of mine. But I got a very fair price for the lot so when you even out the ones worth less than the per/coin price I paid and the ones worth more than the per/coin price I did pretty well. Currently separating out the ones I am adding to my collection like this one from the ones to sell off. I really don't need 10 off center dimes and suchlike.

Just what I needed to see. Thanks. The best way to show rotation that no one can doubt.

I would suggest ANACS got this one wrong, as 160 degrees seems a bit too much. But there are two known rotations on these, 160 and 135, so they did end up with one of the known ones. Anyway, it's back and went PF-68.

tropicalbats, Still an awesome coin and thanks for the update. Was wondering if you were just coincidently updating this topic or was it brought about from another topic recently posted showing the mirror image example of your coin? The lesson continues either way.

FYI, My thinking is rotation listed on slab is off. I still estimate rotation at 144° CCW. I'll try and update more shortly as I got to run off now. Thanks, Doug.

Just starting to update some previously posted coins that I got in from ANACS today. Probably a couple more that I posted here and sent in yet to update.

For this one I'm quite glad I got it slabbed, as it's a pretty coin and the rotated die shows off much better in a slab. Certainly not unhappy with the grade. This one I just sent in for myself and my collection, as a personal preference thing. In general I like RAW coins but for some it's better to have them slabbed.

Made a couple image adjustments to achieve a coin orientation view with overlay.

For comparison upright reverse image from the US Mint with overlay below.

Thanks, Doug.

Follow-up, which might be the image angle, but the coins obverse image seems to show the coin is close, but not perfectly set straight. IGWT would be level straight across.
