The same deception....looking at only one of them....

The date on the 1798 13 star half eagle does not match PCGS photos. The 8, whether large or small, should contact the bust. The stars on the reverse are in the wrong positions. For instance, the three stars to the left and below the beak do not fall in a straight line on a real coin.

The 1798 half eagle is a $15,000 coin.

ALL of these coins should be in slabs IF THEY ARE AUTHENTIC.

I have been watching some of his coins in this lot. I have seen that 1875 20 cent piece before. He is using professional pictures that look like they are from Heritage. Probably questionable color now crack out.

I think the Trade dollar is also a heritage coin. The flowing hair dollar too. Flowing dollar looks to have repaired/altered surfaces.

Was anyone here able to determine if it was a counterfeit definitively?

Most likely a fake. The die pairing is that of S-2. The reverse of S-2 has the link below the N in UNITED double punched. Ido not see that here and the condition is good enough it should be visible. Secondly the S-2 reverse has an almost non-existant center dot, this coin has a fairly strong one. Here is an image of a MS S-2 so you can see how weak the center dot is.

His 1873 Proof only Two Cent Piece was a coin I was watching, no longer as the price went too high for a circulated impaired proof coin, but the coin actually looks like a good one, I can't find anything wrong with it, all the die markers match up. What do you guys think of this one?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/292976890079/

I was thinking about it until it passed the $550 level, don't think I'd want to be in an impaired proof for much more than that. I passed on a cool PR08 1873 a few years ago from a very reputable dealer, again price too high for the grade.

Gary, What do you think? I thought the 1873 Two Cent Piece looks like a legit coin, just some wear and impairment.

There is nothing that jumps out at me, date style is right, date placement is right. The only thing I question is on the one from Heritage I'm looking at there appears to be a small die spine coming off the top right inner berry that I do not see on this coin. But I can't be sure that is a die spine or just a bit of dirt on the coin.

Seems like I've seen this "200 year old pottery store" scam before, a long time ago, maybe a year or more? I suspect they mostly crack out problem coins and toss in a few counterfeits here and there.
