Wow, I could live with those borders just fine. That is the only comment I could make other than that is about the coolest ten dollar bill I've ever seen. (for the first time) Thanks for showing it.....ouch, did I just get bit?

Looks very nice. When it is a Series of 1880 does that mean it was actually printed in 1880?

The color looks to have held up remarkably well.

Wonderful example Mr.Frog. From Daniel Webster's scowl to Pocahontas to that big red seal...a real beauty.

A lot more affordable after the early 2000's when a hoard of these came to light from a bank in Florida.

I didn't know that. Is there a link for info on this? I guess I'm lucky I didn't get one back then (I don't have one now either).

Beautiful note Mr Frog. Picked up one of these myself, not graded, and no where near a 64; probably a 25-30, and with the Lyons & Roberts signatures.

Thanks guys. I've certainly seen worse in 65 holders.

BH1964 - In a word, no. The 1880 Series was the last of this general design type and was printed until the end of the century with different signature combinations. This particular note was issued between 1889-1891.

That is a beauty! Maybe we need to change your name to Notefrog?

I'm wondering if this W.S. Rosecrans is William Rosecrans who served as commander of the Army of the Cumberland in the War Between the States? If so, he is quite an interesting character.

Thanks again to all.

Bump111 - One and the same. A colorful character to say the least.
