i would say receesed it prints the image into the the back ground of the coin and I am able to count like 6 or more noses and you can faintly see the outline of Lincolns face as well the out line of the image and Lincolns ear becomes visable around just above the dated area . my photos may not be the greatest but these etra printed images of Lincoln and the mint mark are truly there. I will try to capture better images this is no false alarm

environmental damage
any "multiple images" are purely coincidental

I cannot see where the shadow outlines match up with Lincoln's outline. Just environmental damage.

I agree with nss-52 ,the staining on this coin are creating a delusion, it is just a well worn stained coin.

don't take this wrong but you guys must be blind Its not like it is bluntly obvious you gotta kinda zoom in to the image and just look outside your box!
I spent forever checking this out just so when I posted the images you guys could not make me seem crazy, I honestly know what I am seeing and it sure is not made up by laying face down in the dirt

That's fine. Keep it if you like. We just gave you our opinion. I certainly don't see any a DDO, let alone 6 noses

The condition of the coin is making you think there is something there. If something is a die issue, it would be raised. All the fields you are looking at are flat, so nothing was created by the die, but more of an issue of staining and coin breakdown.

I'm with everyone else. The apparent multiple images are just the coincidental results of circulation and staining. The kind of object that the OP sees could not possibly have been produced by the US mint.

It is quite evident that several people here are looking outside of the box!! sorry if you didn't hear what you anticipated, but quite frankly, there's nothing complicated about this topic, let's move on.

my apologies to any of the respondents on this post it is just hard to tell what is just markup and what might be an actual error of some kind' I do appreciate the insight and feed back but in that moment I felt like something was possibly there, and being on the newer side to the coin hunting and collecting scene its hard for me to gage the real deals compared to my eyes playing tricks on me.
SO AGAIN I DO WANT TO APOLOGIZE TOO ANY OF YOU THAT PROVIDED ME WITH YOUR INSIGHT AND KNOWLEDGE IN THIS TOPIC I AM TRULY VERY SORRY ...
(I WILL GET BETTER AT THIS AND HOPEFULLY BE POSTING ACTUAL GOOD PHOTO IMAGES AND POSTING COINS WORTH LOOKING AT AND TALKING ABOUT)

Ryanandfamily5,

I'm a lifelong coin enthusiast, stacker & collector (I'm 52), and from time to time i'll see something on a coin & my eyes try to get me to believe it's something that it's not. it still happens, and it can happen to anyone, even to the best eyes. the longer you're on the hunt, the more coins that pass through your hands, the better you get with being able to discern coin errors. keep looking! there is so much out there to find, and you've got a huge advantage by using this forum to guide you.. all these very knowledgable & helpful ppl (with who knows how many total accumulated years of collector experience) in your pocket!

coop, you never cease to amaze me with your posts & images. I had never heard of such a thing. I didn't know there's a technical name for 'you're just seeing things' (i mean aside from 'mirage', 'stoned', 'drunk', etc). worthy of a screenshot & saving. thanks!
