Check NumisMedia.com for value to grade

Coinfrog......ok? Just breaking even isn't what I was expecting but coming from a "Bedrock" I trust your assessment!

acetone should get the tape residue off right?

True, but you may get differential toning where the tape is preventing surface oxidation. I would chop up this display to properly preserve the coins.

I don't think there is a 1828 Buffalo nickel. LOL.

I haven't seen the coins in hand, of course, and wasn't trying to be a smart-alec, but gimmicks like this are usually made up of low grade common dates.

I'd keep it as is. Nothing to loose and makes for a great display item.

Nice beginning. Set them free followed by a dip in acetone. Should take care of any residue from the tape.

Keep it as is and put in your own yard sale for $20 and you're ahead! If you keep it, I'd get the coins out of the acid cardboard.

I found this at a yard sale for $15 bucks....got them down from asking price $20! ...

Well, it probably cost them more than $15 originally(adjusted for inflation), but whatever they paid when it was new was too much.

Most of these type of displays consist of harshly cleaned and/or plated coins. Not worth much. There is a possibility someone removed the original coins and replaced them with higher graded ones, but I doubt it.

There may be a market for the holder itself, depending on how many were produced.

About $8 worth of coins and a nice display card. I'd get a nail and hang it on a wall somewhere.
