Just curious... where did you get this cent? Pulled from a roll? Change? Did you buy it? Just wondering how/if a coin like this could survive to be found, especially 60 years later. I'd like to think it could be still found (and found my me)

Coop, you know I ask more questions about errors than give answers, so here is mine on this one. I see what looks like a "ragged clip" from an excessive de-lamination issue, and wonder why you are calling it a "cracked planchet." Looks like most of the ragged clips I've seen, although quite a glorious one indeed compared to most.

Excellent error coin no matter how to label it.

Because it flowed across the incomplete planchet area. Then thinking more about it, ragged planchet is more correct. The blank was cut over a ragged edge of the stock material. Here are a few others I have on file:
