Coop, your table doesn't list the weight for the 40% silver quarter. 5.75 grams

The quarter weights 5.48 grams. The same as the bicentennial quarter which is 40% silver. The core is different as it has even slabs of silver on both sides with a faint thin ring of copper in the middle

"The quarter weights 5.48 grams. The same as the bicentennial quarter which is 40% silver." Actually, the 40% Bicentennial quarter weight is 5.75, slightly heavier than the regular clad weight of 5.67.

It does look different. Have you tried the tissue test? Can you take pictures of the tissue test?

The filled 'P' is form a broken post on the mintmark initial. When they break off the die, the void gets filled in with metal. Then it looks like your coin.

Well the weight is against it, but if you want to pursue it an XRF test as Conder recommended is about all you can do.

Is the tissue test a real thing? Lol or is it like asking the new guy to grab the concrete stretcher?

Guys!! That gumball at the gas station for $.25 was really starting to look good
Until I did the ice cube test!
HO-LY-GUAC-AMOLE what a HUGE instant difference!
The 1980 Washington ice cube turned clear as soon as it hit the quarter and started melting like crazy spinning around
The 90% silver quarter got a little clearer instantly and barely melted the whole time

First bid is up 20million who wants it

Look, you can melt ice, ring, feel, smell it whatever. It all means nothing. Weight, specific gravity, XRF are real, the other stuff is meaningless. The weight is already wrong. You can go ahead with the XRF or spend the money and send it to one of the major third party graders.

Shows the problem with the "ice test" right there. The 1980 melted the ice fast than the 1954? We know the 54 is 90% silver and it should melt ice faster than a 40% or a clad coin. But it melted SLOWER.
