Looks like it's got book toning, possibly old cleaning? XF?

Don't know if it's been cleaned but it looks to be what is called "market acceptable" to me!

Nice coin!

with it showing a little bit of wear (feathers on chest, hair, leaves, etc) how can you even tell if its been acid washed cleaned or something? I see no physical cleaning damage, though (brush/rubbing). Its in great shape.

It looks pretty good to me; worst case scenario would be that it was lightly cleaned and has since retoned pretty attractively. My best guess is that is original and uncleared. A nice looking example of a more difficult coin for the series.

I agree.

From not having the coin in our hands all we can do is tell you what we think.

The coin is 88 years old. That is a long time. It could have been cleaned in the past, but if it was cleaned, it did not decrease the coin's appeal.

To me the coin is acceptable "as is" and most collectors would be, too!

I hope you enjoy it for many years to come!

As a general rule it is "Acceptable"
The field areas is where to look regarding
possible cleansing..,
(whether recently...don't think so)
If cleaned, it was done many years ago.

Too me, I collect Standing as well as WA.Quarters.
This is an extremely nice coin probably in
it's presentation as a
higher AU to Lower MS specimen.
What's holding it back is the
OBV.Hair and REV.Breast "highpoints" sort of weak.
However, It is still worth the investment
IMHO to have it graded.

I'd love to have it in my collection...
IT'S THAT NICE!
Congrats My Friend!

Given the photos provided, I can't determine if it's been cleaned. Appears to have 'classic' toning, often associated with being on a coin book for many, many years.

I see enough wear to garner a low to mid AU grade. In my opinion, it't wouldn't be cost effective to submit for grading. Having said all that, it's a nice coin.

I will be "that guy". Looks off to me. Mint mark doesn't look right, it looks too good to me.

If the S looks more like a 5 I'm going with fake.

Look, I'm gonna call it suspect. The date looks off, the mint mark looks wrong to me also but I'm no expert, the rim edge looks wrong for what I've seen. It could just be a previously cleaned coin and that's what's triggering me. I find it "suspect" and that's what I'm calling it.

But I am no expert. If it were me I'd pass unless already graded and authenticated.
