Too much flashback. Try taking it in the same light as your first 1928 "Inverted S " quarter pic.

... to the Community! If you think it's the real deal then send it to ANACS for authentication and grading. I think it's got a 50/50 chace. To be marketable it will need to be slabbed. Let us know how it turns out. Good luck!

Agree, but I think better pics will help us sort out the genuineness of this coin right here.

First, There are several markers for the 1918/1917-S SLQ: There should be a die gouge west of the bottom right star The top step should be missing There should be a die clash from the "E" of EPU west of the lower part of Liberty's right knee (our visual left). The PCGS 1918/1917-S photo shows these markers plainly. On your coin, I cannot see the die clash. There is too much glare to tell if the top step is missing. There may be a mark where the gouge should be, but I cannot be sure. Also, the mm position looks close, but may be very slightly off. I'm leaning toward "no" but there isn't enough photo evidence to be sure.

The bottom loop of the 8 looks wrong. I don't think this the 1918/7-S.
