Likewise, I can't figure out anything of interest in this note. I've never heard of 'vampire numbers' before, and I'm hoping someone else here might know and answer.

One thing I DO KNOW is that I'd much rather have this posted note (no matter what serial number) than the two $1 bills I currently have in my wallet.

I'm gonna keep it, its UNC and a 99% coolness rating is worth keeping in my eyes. Maybe my kids can cash in on it eventually. If I'm lucky, Bram Stoker will see this and make his fangs salivate and pay up...

This is what the Fancy Serial Number Checker has to say:
(But I don't know what it really means - to me it's just another boring serial number)

This is why computers / blockchain can never truly replace humans - not everything can be subsumed to statistics... the Soviet Union was proof of that...

From what Rothery posted, it seems that--

Vampire Number: a product of two numbers whose digits are all represented in the final product

5834 * 6230
=
36345820

Mathematically, that's an interesting concept. In terms of getting more than $20 for a "Vampire" serial, no way!

Oh, now I see, who the heck has time to look at serial numbers and figure that out? Yeah, you're right - it's worth 20$ so spend it

Thanks for clearing it PNWType, you're right with value wise.
Maybe some mathematician will appreciate it.

ok, but the $20 in my pocket is the only one of it's kind (serial # wise) so it must be worth a fortune?

I'm not that hard up for $20, its worth keeping it myself. Its interesting to me plus I keep anything 99% and above as long as it's UNC. Why not? I collect to collect, not interested in resale. I'll hand it down just like my collection has been for generations now.

If you have to rely on a computer algorithm to tell you what is cool, that's probably not the best approach to collecting. It's your choice to pass it down to your grandchildren, but they will spend it. And in 20 years this will be worth a good bit less, thanks to inflation.

This sums it up quite nicely. That Coolness factor is rubbish and gives false hope to would-be collectors.
