But if it is FS-501 why is it not in the current CPG?

If its not in the CPG, but is in the VarietyVista site stated as FS-501, that is strange?

Definitely FS-501! A nice find. Not in my CPG either, but is included in variety vista's site. Well done!

strong repunching on this variety. i dont see it listed in CPG 6th Edition Volume 1; maybe in an older version at one time? variety vista list a cross ref of FS-501 ... possibly an error in information?

cant be FS-501 if there is no FS-501 in source documents (CPG).

Items are added and subtracted when new publications come out. But I see no need to remove this item?

Agree with Coop, things do get added and removed, but this is one of the nicest RPMs I've seen on a Jefferson. Certainly worthy.

They probably add more if they think they are going to make another volume. Or cut stuff to keep it down to 2 volumes. I say, the more the better the listings could be, especially with PCGS only using these die numbers.

The thing with CPG is some of the lesser variety mentioned, that it will not be listed in the next issue could be summarize into a single page, and used the extra space for inclusion of these major varieties. I worked and have involvement in the publishing industries, so this is obviously an editor missing out the necessary informations he/she supposed to include or didn't get.

Congrats another nice one. Almost looks like a third upper serif? (between the two prominent ones.)

Thanks all! Super happy to have picked this one up, as I honestly didn't even know it was a thing. On the rare occasions I search nickels, I just look for a couple of the stronger FS coins that are listed in the book and if it's not in there I don't know about it. But this one is clearly worth looking for.
I also thought there might be three D's in the mix, but the more I stared at it in a more broad sense it does just look like one extra one. That light bit to the north just seems a little too fortuitous to actually be another D in there, and when I zoom way in on it with the scope it sort of disappears.
