Yeah very good catch. The supermarket may have mistakenly looked for security thread/watermark and they didn't have those in 1988.

Wow, great catch, I've never seen one like that. You can also see faint 7's on the right side of the front of the bill that indicates the Chicago federal reserve bank.

I appreciate you guys acknowledging the nice catch. You don't see many raised notes on modern currency but they were quite common on obsoletes during the wildcat banking days of the 1800s.
